Designing for Touch: Creating and Building Meaningful Haptic Interfaces
Authors:
Camille Moussette, Daniel Fallman

Abstract:
This paper presents our initial findings about the problems and challenges of designing haptic interfaces. We support our discussion with observations and analysis of design activities realized in by our research group and design students. We conclude with initial ideas about how to structure, document and evaluate haptic qualities in the design process. Our hope is to expose the many questions and issues in this nascent design activity to eventually expand our haptic design toolbox and library, and bring consistency and rigor within the field.
